The Kellan dress by Hayley Paige wedding gown. This is an ivory lace and tulle bridal ball gown. It has a deep curved V-neckline with cashmere lining and lace applique. It has mesh side cut-outs with an open back with cross strap accent. Feminine floral lace adorns the bodice and the top layer of the cascading tiered skirt, while layers of tulle peek out for a dramatic finish!
Even though this is technically and A-line, I felt as glamorous as if I was wearing a ball gown. Hayley Paige is an genius designer and this was the lightest dress of this size that I tried on. I felt comfortable and was able to move my entire wedding day. The train is amazing, but it was just as beautiful bustled. I love this gown, but I can't store it and it would be so special if someone else got to wear it for their wedding day!
Condition: This dress has many layers of tulle (my tailor said eleven) and one of them has a large tear that is not noticeable at all. If you wanted to just take out that layer you would not lose any volume.
Alterations: This dress was bought as a sample gown from Luxe Redux Bridal in Cincinnati. It was too large for me when I bought it.
The dress was hemmed for my height (5'3'') with flat sandals on. The dress was hemmed from the waist so the label was removed for this adjustment. I still do have the label with the gown, it's just not attached.
The bust was tightened and cups with some lift were added. Even with the extra push-up everything felt very secure during the wedding day, even when sitting and dancing.
The straps were shortened as well.
A five point bustle was added to keep the hem off the ground while dancing.
This dress has been professionally dry cleaned for the next bride.
